Dear Honey,
A friend recently married and used your Honeymoon Registry - and her Honeymoon was almost completely paid for by it. I want to do the same thing for my Honeymoon, but my fiance and my mom say that it's like "begging for money". How can I convince them that a Honeymoon Registry is acceptable today? - Debbee, Colorado Springs, CO Dear Debbee, Hmmm...let's see if I understand.....they think that registering for your honeymoon is "begging for money", but that registering for china and cutlery isn't "begging for kitchen items"? Perhaps if you share with them the fact that the concept of a registry - any registry - is about two things - getting what you want and need to start your life together, and making the gift giving process easier for your guests. What could be easier than picking up a phone and contributing to the honeymoon of your dreams? After all, most people lead busy lives these days, and/or don't like to go shopping. We get an enormous amount of positive feedback from contributors who are very happy - and greatly relieved - to have this option (especially the ones who've waited until the last minute to get a present!). Planning Activities Ahead
Most upscale resorts and destinations offer on-site activities and amenities - for example a golf course, european spa, sightseeing tours, or sports such as scuba diving or sailing. Oftentimes these activities and amenities are very popular, and as a result, they tend to book up fast. Frequently couples don't anticipate that they won't get the equipment or appointment they'd anticipated, and leave disappointed or frustrated. A simple phone call - made well in advance of your honeymoon departure date - can mean the difference between enjoying that relaxing beachside massage, getting that prime tee-off time, or an afternoon scuba lesson - or not. Even some resort restaurants (the nicer ones that require reservations) can be quickly filled up at the time you prefer to eat dinner. A good Honeymoon Consultant should be well aware of this and offer to make most, if not all, of your reservations and appointments in advance. Be sure to leave yourself plenty of unscheduled free time to relax - after all, it's your Honeymoon! - but for anything that you really want to do or see, book it early!
