Honeymoon Mistakes To Avoid:

Not using a Honeymoon Registry
An increasingly popular trend nowadays is the “honeymoon registry”, which works just like a bridal registry.  We can set up your registry, and provide you with complimentary cards to go inside your invitations (or Save The Date cards) to let your guests know where and how they can contribute to making your dream honeymoon come true. This is especially popular with couples that already have all the household items they need, and many couples wind up having their honeymoon trip completely paid for!  We’ll keep an automated list for the bride of how much has been contributed and by whom, and send a receipt and complimentary gift card to each contributor.  Best of all, we have no fees for our registry service when you book your Honeymoon through us - no cost to you or to your contributors.

Tips on Tipping

When you're preparing your Honeymoon budget, don't forget to take into account the tips! Even if you're staying at an All-Inclusive, where gratuities are included in your Honeymoon Package, you'll still be dealing with airport skycaps and taxi-drivers before you arrive there and after you leave - and if you're not staying at an All-Inclusive, be sure to estimate all of your expenses for meals, drinks, tours, cab rides, etc and then add another 15% to 18% for the tips.

ALSO - at many [non-all-inclusive] tourist destinations, restaurants often add the gratuity to the bill before presenting it to you.  While you're free to modify the amount before you pay, you'll want to pay close attention to this so that you don't wind up accidentally over-tipping by a large amount!

Ask Honey   Honeymoon Advice
Dear Honey,
We're planning a destination wedding, and want to keep it small and intimate.  How can we avoid hurting the feelings of anyone we're not inviting?
- Lori, Springfield, MA

Dear Lori
It really doesn't matter what type of wedding any couple has - big, small at home or somewhere else - it's bound to happen anyway - anyone who feels they should have been invited and wasn't will experience hurt feelings, and there isn't much you can do about that, short of inviting everyone you've ever met in your life.

The best thing to do is to decide who you really want to have at your ceremony, invite them, and don't feel that you need to apologize or explain to anyone else.

Have a reception when you return home, and invite everyone else to that instead. If anyone has the nerve to give you grief about not being invited to the ceremony, simply smile and say "I'm so happy that we have the chance to celebrate with you now!" and move on.

Best regards,
Honey
